counseling services

Students first!  Our number one priority is working directly with our students, your children.  We accomplish this in several ways: individual conversations, small groups (i.e. new students, lunch bunch, study skills), and whole classroom activities.  We also help open a lot of lockers!

Parents and families.  We encourage communication between home and school, and facilitate communication between teachers, students and families. Please feel free to contact your child’s counselor via email or phone to discuss a concern.  We are available for conferences and also periodically host parent programs.

Teachers and the school community.
We work closely with teachers and administrators,  during meetings and presentations and individually, to support the needs of all students.

Crisis intervention.  When students experience emergency or crisis situations, counselors are available for immediate support and short-term counseling, and we work with families to provide referral services.

Section 504.  Counselors manage individual 504 Accommodation Plans for students identified with academic struggles.  Please see our district website for complete information including forms that can be downloaded.

Developmental counseling lessons.  The middle school counseling program recognizes the unique needs that present at each grade level.  We share time with the grade level teachers to deliver classroom lessons on a variety of topics.
